For a long time Shark have been the outright market leaders in upright vacuums cleaners, and they have now made a robot vacuum cleaner, but the Shark Ion 750 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is not just any robot, this is an advanced app driven, self cleaning, voice activated marvel that will rival the Irobot roomba, and will not break the bank. Check out this video below showing how it works

The Shark ION ROBOT is the one stop solution for an amazing daily clean. This robot benefits from a self-cleaning brush roll that sweeps up both short and long hair with ease, it also picks up dust, dander, and allergens to prevent the everyday buildup in your home, or office space. The advanced technology of the Shark Ion 750 robotic vacuum cleaner means that it comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring that you can control the cleaning and scheduling when you are away from your home via the smartphone app.  The technology also stretches to you being able to control your robot via voice control through the Google Assistant or the Shark skill for Amazon Alexa.

What are the Pros and Cons of The Shark Ion 750 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner?

Pros

  • The Shark is a relatively quiet robot
  • The robot is Alexa compatible which limits human intervention
  • The Self cleaning brushes prevents clogging and stoppages allowing for uninterrupted cleaning
  • The smartphone app allows for remote cleaning and scheduling
  • The dual bushes are perfect for those hard to reach places
  • The Shark performs really well on bare floors such as wood, laminate and vinyl. It also performs well on low pile carpets
  • The technology is comparable with the iRoomba robots and is cheaper in price
  • The shark comes with magnetic tape to seal off your room and creating a boundary.

Cons

  • Like many of the budget robotic vacuum cleaners the Shark Ion operates using a random cleaning pattern, meaning that it may not clean your whole room the first time around, however, it doesn’t repeat the same pattern throughout the room clean, so it should pick up the mess second time around.
  • Some recent comments have highlighted that customer support has long hold times, and a lack of trained staff
  • The run time is a little shorter than a lot of the premium robotic vacuum cleaners (around 60 minutes)
  • It has been reported that there may be some issues with the WIFI connectivity.

Our Conclusion

The Shark Ion 750 robotic vacuum cleaner is selling really well on amazon and is getting rave reviews around the world. Its technology and price sets it apart from most of the budget and mid range robots. However some of the iLife and Ecovacs robots do outperform this device.  The cons that we have highlighted around the Wi-fi connectivity and customer support are relevant, but appear to be limited in numbers, so overall we feel that this is a great buy for hard floors and low pile carpets within small to medium sized rooms.
